From Soldiers to Servants, Indonesian Forces Enhance Community Relations in Aifat

Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of the Aifat District
PAPUA, Tabloid Diksi - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province. On Saturday, 12 October 2024, the 501 Task Forces, especially the Kamat Post led by Second Lieutenant Handoko, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of the Aifat District while conducting areal protection tasks. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.
Underlining the Soldiers' role, the Commander of the 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, underscored the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs around the Post. In response, on Saturday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks through interaction and communication with Aifat residents. The interaction followed package distribution by the 501 Task Forces from the Indonesian Chief of Army (Kasad), General Maruli Simanjuntak, to the residents.
